Jeremy Allaire is the Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Circle, the company behind USD Coin (USDC), one of the fastest growing fiat-backed stablecoins in the digital asset market. Allaire is a serial entrepreneur with nearly 30 years of experience building internet platforms and digital infrastructure. Over the course of his career, he has founded and taken public three internet platform companies across web software, digital media, communications, and internet finance. Before launching Circle, Allaire served as Founder and CEO of Brightcove. He also worked as a Technologist and Entrepreneur-in-Residence at General Catalyst and previously co-founded Allaire Corporation, where he served as Chief Technology Officer. Jeremy Allaire is a serial entrepreneur and the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Circle, a global financial technology firm that enables businesses of all sizes to use stablecoins and public blockchains for payments, settlement, and digital commerce.
Under Allaire’s leadership, Circle has played a significant role in the evolution of digital money and the development of the internet-based financial system.
The company is the issuer of USD Coin (USDC), one of the largest regulated dollar-backed stablecoins.
USDC is governed by the Centre Consortium, originally led by Circle and Coinbase. The stablecoin has grown to a market capitalization of more than $26 billion and has facilitated more than $800 billion in transaction volume across global blockchain networks.
EARLY CAREER
Before founding Circle, Allaire built and led multiple influential internet technology companies.
He co-founded Allaire Corporation and served as its Chief Technology Officer. The company helped web developers build dynamic websites and internet applications and was an early pioneer in using internet platforms for commerce and business software.
Following the acquisition of Allaire Corporation, Allaire served as Chief Technology Officer at Macromedia, where he helped define product strategy and roadmap for next-generation internet software platforms.
