Josh Lipsky is the Chair of International Economics at the Atlantic Council and serves as the Senior Director of the Council’s GeoEconomics Center, where he leads global research and policy initiatives at the intersection of finance, technology, and national security. Widely recognized as one of the most sought-after experts on U.S. and international economic policy, Lipsky has built a distinguished career advising policymakers on key challenges to the global economy, including trade wars, financial stability, reform of the Bretton Woods system, and the rise of digital currencies. Before joining the Atlantic Council, Lipsky served as an Advisor at the International Monetary Fund, where he worked closely with global finance leaders and was Speechwriter to IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde. Earlier in his career, he held an appointment at the U.S. Department of State as Special Advisor to the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, contributing to the nation’s international communications strategy.
