Libby Cantrill is a Managing Director and Head of Public Policy at PIMCO, one of the world’s leading active fixed-income investment managers with deep capabilities across public and private markets. In this role, she analyzes global policy, fiscal, and political risk for PIMCO’s Investment Committee and helps shape the firm’s investment outlook by translating policy developments into market-relevant insights. She also leads PIMCO’s U.S. policymaker engagement and public policy strategy, working closely with senior decision-makers across government and regulatory bodies. Before joining PIMCO in 2007, Cantrill served as a Legislative Assistant in the United States House of Representatives, where she worked directly on public policy and legislative strategy. Earlier in her career, she worked in the investment banking division at Morgan Stanley, gaining experience in capital markets and corporate finance. A recognized authority on fiscal policy, monetary policy, and political risk, Cantrill is a frequent contributor and commentator on Bloomberg and CNBC. At PIMCO, Libby Cantrill works closely with the firm’s Global Advisory Board, chaired by former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, contributing policy analysis that informs PIMCO’s global investment strategy and macroeconomic outlook.
She has served as a rotating member of PIMCO’s Executive Committee and previously held the role of Executive Vice President, where she helped coordinate the firm’s response to major public policy developments and analyzed political and fiscal events for the Investment Committee.
