Marc Mayer is the Chairman and CEO of Manning & Napier, an experienced investment manager specializing in comprehensive wealth and asset management services. He is responsible for defining and leading strategic initiatives for the firm, as well as managing day-to-day operations. Prior to joining Manning & Napier, he was Head of North American Distribution for Schroders in New York, where he was responsible for leading all institutional and intermediary business initiatives. He also served as CEO at GMO, an investment management firm with over $70 billion in assets. Mayer spent 20 years at AllianceBernstein and its predecessor firm, Sanford Bernstein, where he headed the global Institutional and Intermediary businesses, and served as Chief Investment Officer for Asset Allocation Strategies.

He oversaw the most respected institutional research department in the business, and was responsible for developing and delivering insightful, differentiated research into the global pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to joining Sanford Bernstein, he worked at the Squibb Corporation for six years in strategic planning, business development, marketing, and marketing research.
