Stephen Weiss is Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Short Hills Capital Partners, a multi-manager fund anchored by one of the industry's most successful hedge fund managers. A former tax attorney, Steve has been in the investment industry for over 27 years, virtually all of this time involved with hedge funds. He has held senior management positions at Salomon Brothers, SAC Capital (now Point72 Asset Management), and Lehman Brothers. He has developed a broad network of CEO’s and investment professionals, relationships he has built over his three-decade career. Steve is also a well-known figure in the financial world, particularly for his regular appearances as market expert and commentator on CNBC’s Halftime Report. He serves on the Board of Directors of multiple companies and is also an accomplished keynote speaker.

EARLY CAREER
Steve has built relationships with some of the industry's most respected fund managers.
He was Co-Head of Global Equity Research at Salomon Brothers, where he developed the first globally integrated equity research product on Wall Street and incorporated credit analysis.
As CIO at SAC Capital, he initiated sectorization and specialization of traders and portfolio managers.
He was also co-founder and CIO of MSW Asset Management, a long/short equity fund.
He has been a Visiting Teaching Fellow at UNC’s graduate business school, Kenan-Flagler for a course that is based on the subject matter from “The Billion Dollar Mistake”.
