Alan Tannenbaum is the CEO and Group Head of BMO Capital Markets, a leading, full-service North American financial services provider. Since joining BMO in 2010, Tannenbaum has held multiple leadership roles at the bank. As CEO, he is responsible for BMO's interactions with corporate, government and institutional clients in global markets. He also serves as a member of the bank's Executive Committee. Tannenbaum is a Wall Street veteran with over 25 years of experience. Prior to joining BMO, he spent 13 years at Lehman Brothers, including as Head of European Equity Capital Markets, based in London, and Head of U.S. Institutional Sales, based in New York.
Tannenbaum joined BMO in 2010 as Co-Head of Global Equity Products, responsible for overseeing all of BMO's equity research, equity sales and trading, as well as the various equity finance businesses.
Prior to his current role, he was Head of Global Investment & Corporate Banking, where he oversaw relationships with corporate, government, and financial sponsors worldwide.
He also headed the global corporate finance solutions group, responsible for capital raising activities.
He was also involved in equity and debt underwriting, leveraged finance, corporate lending and project financing, mergers and acquisitions advisory services and global trade and banking.
EARLY CAREER
Prior to joining BMO, he served as CEO of Odyne Corporation, a manufacturer of hybrid utility trucks and hybrid utility vehicles.
He served as Managing Director of Lehman Brothers and Paragon Asset Management.
He also served as Vice President of James Capel, Inc.
