Bilal Hafeez is the Founder, CEO, and Head of Research at Macro Hive, a leading independent provider of global macro research and strategy. He is the primary force behind the firm’s goal to deliver unbiased and cutting-edge market insights, and his weekly insights reveal key macro themes for investors and actionable trade ideas. Hafeez is an experienced market strategist, currency expert, and economist who has also pioneered FX investment and smart beta benchmarks. Prior to launching Macro Hive, he was Global Head of International Fixed Income Strategy at Nomura and Head of Multi-Asset Research and Advisor to the CEO at Deutsche Bank. During his sell-side career, he was rated #1 market strategist by Euromoney and Institutional Investor for most years between 2004 and 2013. Hafeez is also an experienced Professor of Finance with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry.

Bilal started his career in the corporate world as an FX Strategist at JP Morgan.
He held various senior roles at Deutsche Bank, including Head of Multi-Asset Research, Advisor to the CEO, and Global Head of Foreign Exchange Research.
At Deutsche Bank, he created one of the first ever sets of benchmarks and factor models for currency markets.
While at Deutsche, Bilal was ranked #1 by Euromoney for 10 years. He was also awarded first place in the All-Europe Fixed-Income Research Team for both 2013 and 2014 by Institutional Investor.
He was most recently Global Head of FX and Rates Strategy at Nomura. first worked as the Global Head of G10 FX Strategy, then the Head of EMEA Fixed Income Research, then as the Global Head of FX and Rates Strategy.
He is skilled in foreign exchange, options, equities, capital markets, financial markets, and trading, among others.
