Charles Tall has over 40 years of experience trading financial instruments in the United States, Europe, and Korea. He is the Founder and CEO of Archelon Group, a proprietary trading firm that combines mathematical computer modeling and sophisticated technology to provide liquidity in multiple asset classes on the world's primary financial exchanges. Previously, he has been a trader on the floors of the American Stock Exchange, the New York Stock Exchange Options Division, the New York Futures Exchange, the CBOT, the CME, the CBOE, and the Midwest Stock Exchange. He also worked at Bache & Co, now Prudential, where he used his engineering skills to create his own valuation and trading models. He then formed Turtle I Partnership in 1983 with the backing of his branch manager, fellow brokers, and clients, and forged his way onto the trading floors in New York. Recently, Charles has spun out Archelon’s trading activities to its partners and employees and is taking on special projects and consulting to FinTech firms.
EARLY CAREER
Charles was interested in the stock market from an early age and was introduced to options while studying engineering at Cornell University.
Five years after he graduated, he made his way to New York and traded on the floor of the American Stock Exchange as a market maker in options.
He has served in numerous capacities of governance and business development of the CBOE in the 1990's.
