Justin Carbonneau is Vice President of Validea, an independent investment research firm focused on developing quantitative strategies and investing tools based on the methodologies of legendary investors and other proven approaches. In his role, Justin is responsible for sales, partnerships and media relations, and has been involved with the company since its inception. He is also one of the Partners at Validea Capital Management and Co-Host of the Excess Returns Podcast. In addition, he also works with investors and institutions and helps them understand the investing strategies and tools developed by Validea. Throughout his career, Justin has been involved in all aspects of building two investment-related businesses—an asset management firm and an online equity research company.
Justin played nearly all aspects of product development, sales and marketing, client relations, compliance, external partnerships and sub-advisory opportunities at VCM.
He also published his own investment commentary, and launched and managed a popular blog with tens of thousands of registered users.
Justin also served as Group Controller for CIGNA Healthcare Leadership Development Program, responsible for $140M budget and planning responsibilities.
In the U.S. Air Force, he was awarded "Airman of the Year" for his role in developing an inventory tracking system for vehicle parts.
While at UConn, Justin was on the track and field and cross-country teams. He was also a member of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
He was inducted into the UConn School of Business Hall of Fame.
Justin has a Series 65 license from FINRA.
