Margret Trilli is Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive of ImpactAssets, a non-profit impact investing firm that specializes in private placements in climate, equity and poverty alleviation. At IA, Margret is responsible for executive leadership, strategic growth and planning for all areas of the firm, including investment strategy and management. Margret draws on more than 25 years of investment and business building experience, having led executive leadership, investment and operating roles for companies such as Barclays Global Investors, Blackrock, and Charles Schwab. Her experience spans investment management, product management, strategy and planning, reengineering, turnarounds and business building in evaluating opportunities in private markets. An impact investing veteran, she is a recognized voice on the areas of impact investing and philanthropy. Margret has also been featured in media outlets worldwide including Forbes, Barron's, Chronicle of Philanthropy, Money & Meaning and Real Leaders.
Margret is passionate about climate solutions, specifically using data and tech to solve challenges in renewable energy and efficiency, regenerative agri, GHG upcycling and health and wellness.
Margret is the founder of International Capital, a boutique investment consultancy firm providing sourcing and due diligence of impact investments to a select group of family offices.
Her leadership has been invaluable to family offices, wealth managers, foundations and corporations. She serves on the boards and investment committees of 3 family offices.
She is a seasonal lecturer at MIT where she co-teaches coursework on Impact Investing, Investment Strategy and Venture Capital and Private Equity Due Diligence.
At MIT, she leads multiple programs on the education of the rising generation, covering fluency in investments, finance and VC investing.
Margret’s investment expertise spans public and private equities and alternative assets, such as venture capital, direct private equity, international equities, currency hedging and fund portfolios.
She also has expertise in fintech, enterprise tech, commercial real estate, energy, natural resources, food and agri, ESG/values-aligned strategies and impact investing.
