Michael Rubenstein joined RMWC at its inception in 2008 and serves as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for the firm's multi-strategy private credit vehicle. Michael has been very active in RMWC’s direct lending strategy and has coordinated the sourcing, underwriting, and asset management on more than 430 closed loan transactions between 2012 and 2020, including 15 successfully completed workouts. He has also made significant contributions to client acquisition and marketing efforts as RMWC has grown into an institutional grade fund manager. He is a strong investment professional and business executive with over 18 years experience in sourcing, underwriting, and managing portfolios of private credit, private loans, and real estate investments. Prior to joining RMWC, Michael was a top-performing financial advisor at a leading financial services firm. He is also active in the Georgetown University Masters of Professional Studies Real Estate Mentor Program.
Michael teamed up with the RMWC's CEO in 2007 and was closely involved in the construction of the firm's multi-strategy vehicle in 2011.
Prior to his current role, Michael was RMWC's Director of Research from 2012 launch through 2020.
He was a Financial Services Representative with State Farm, where he was recognized as part of the Top 1% of Financial Services Representatives nationally.
While at State Farm, he ranked #2 of 17,700 Financial Services Representatives in the U.S. and Canada based on total production.
He has experience sourcing strategic co-investment partnerships, meeting with institutional investors and executing ambitious business plans.
He has also expertise in underwriting asset-based loans, equity investment and preparing financial statements.
He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, and is active in the Georgetown University Masters of Professional Studies Real Estate Mentor Program.
He completed the CIMA program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earned his CIMA designation.
He holds a Masters of Professional Studies in Real Estate from Georgetown University and holds a B.S. in Biology from the university of Maryland.
