Rick Rieder is Senior Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income at BlackRock, where he oversees approximately $2.7 trillion in assets. Widely regarded as one of the leading voices in global finance and economics, Rieder brings more than 30 years of experience in investment management and is recognized for his expertise in global markets, investor sentiment, and economic policy. Before joining BlackRock in 2009, he served as Vice Chairman and a member of the U.S. Treasury Borrowing Committee and was part of the Federal Reserve’s Investment Advisory Committee on Financial Markets. Rieder was Head of Global Principal Strategies at Lehman Brothers, a global proprietary investment platform of the firm.
He was also Global Head of Lehman Brothers' credit businesses, Chairman of the Corporate Bond and Loan Capital Commitment Committee, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the corporate pension fund.
Before joining Lehman Brothers, he was a Credit Analyst at SunTrust Banks in Atlanta.
