Anthony Noto is the CEO of SoFi, a leading personal finance and financial technology company. Under his leadership, SoFi has evolved from a student loan lender to a mobile-first full suite of products, launching several non-lending products. Noto has held various positions throughout his career. Prior to joining SoFi, he was Chief Operating Officer of Twitter, now X. He also served as Co-Head of Global TMT Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs, and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the National Football League. While at the NFL, he oversaw league-wide finance and strategy functions, including corporate development, labor finance, operational finance and accounting, tax and treasury.
Under his leadership, SoFi launched several non-lending products including SoFi Invest, SoFi Checking and Savings, SoFi Credit Card, SoFi Relay, as well as relaunching Home Loans, introducing college loans and becoming a Nationally licensed bank.
SoFi also became a public company in June of 2021 at 3x the value from just three years prior as it has grown revenue from $250 million in 2018 to over $2 billion in 2024 and achieved GAAP profitability.
Additionally, SoFi has built a financial technology platform business serving over 130 million end-accounts and 8 billion transactions via the Galileo payment processing platform and Technisys Core banking products.
Prior to joining the NFL, Noto was the Internet, Entertainment and Cable Equity Research analyst and business unit leader for the Communications, Media and Entertainment Equity Research team at Goldman Sachs.
He joined the firm in 1999 in Equity Research to cover the Internet sector and added coverage of the Entertainment sector in 2003.
He was a top-ranked analyst in both the Internet and Entertainment sectors in the annual Institutional Investor poll and Greenwich Survey from his first year covering each sector.
He also achieved the distinction of being the No. 1 ranked Internet analyst from 2003 to 2007. He was named managing director in 2003 and partner in 2004.
NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE
While at Goldman, Noto did advisory work for the NFL, which led to him being recruited as its Chief Financial Officer.
He was a key contributor in renegotiating the league’s media deals and increasing the linear television distribution of the NFL network.
He helped establish the go-forward strategy and long-term objective for the NFL to reach $25 billion in revenue by 2028.
EARLY CAREER
Noto started his career as a Captain in the US Army, serving as a Telecommunications Officer.
Before transitioning to equity research, he was a Brand Manager at Kraft Foods.
During his time at Lehman Brothers, he was part of the Institutional Investor All-American Team covering the Broadline Retailing sector.
