He was responsible for all operations of the firm as well as the development and operation of all asset management strategies.
Under his leadership, Whitebox Advisors became well-regarded in the financial industry for its distinctive investment strategies, which often included a mix of long-short equity positions, distressed debt, and other alternative investments.
The firm catered to institutional investors and high-net-worth individuals seeking diversification beyond traditional asset classes.
In 2020, he stepped down from his roles as CEO and CIO of Whitebox Advisors.
EARLY CAREER
He was a Founding Partner of Deephaven Capital and managed the Market Neutral Fund. Under his leadership, the fund's assets grew from $5 million to $300 million.
During his post at Chicago Board Options Exchange, he learned to look for opportunities in market structure and other behavioral eccentricities, which has been the cornerstone of his success.
