Jeff Kilburg

CAREER

• Kilburg spent more than 20 years on the floors of the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Board Options Exchange. 
• He learned about equity options in the 1990s under the mentorship of Mercury Founders Jon and Pete Najarian.
• He then joined Ritchie Capital Markets Group to work in the bond option with founder Joe Ritchie and his son Thane Ritchie.
• He was introduced to the volatility associated with fixed income on the floor of CBOT, which created the opportunity for him to gravitate towards the bond futures pits. 
  
• He subsequently became a team member and an assistant broker in the 30-Year Futures pit with the specialist group, JLS Group. 
  
• The 30-year pit in the 1990s was a riveting opportunity and became his starting point in futures.
  
• He launched a floor operation of his own at the CBOT in 1999.
• After the benchmark was switched from the 30-Year Bond to the 10-Year Note in the early 2000s, he transitioned into the 10-Year Note pit and became one of the larger market makers there.
• Having the ability to trade the entire curve via the various available spreads, he obtained vast experience in understanding risk management.

• Kilburg is often featured by the media and speaks at a variety of conferences globally.
• He provides regular market insight for various networks including CNBC, FOX Business News, Bloomberg TV, and BNN.
  
• He is a member of the Futures Now team on CNBC and regularly appears on CNBC's "Fast Money" and "Power Lunch."
• He provides insight into "Squawk Box," "Squawk on the Street," and "Closing Bell."
• He serves as a contributor for CME Group's Striking Options.
• He is regularly featured on Yahoo Finances BreakOut show.

• Kilburg holds Series 7 and Series 63 licenses.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

• While at the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, Kilburg was a recipient of a four-year football scholarship under Lou Holtz.
• In 2012, Jeff garnered acknowledgment from CNBC for calling that the 10-year note would fall to historic lows under the 1.5% level.
  

PERSONAL INTERESTS

• Kilburg volunteers as the President of his town’s youth tackle football league.

• He is active in his Chicagoland Young Presidents’ Organization chapter.

• He sits on the Board of St. Joseph Hospitals Development Council in Chicago, IL.
