James Hickman, also known through his pen name Simon Black, is an international investor, entrepreneur, prolific traveler, and a self-described free man with an extensive business and investment career spanning more than 25 years. Hickman is the Founder of Sovereign Man, a provider of actionable intelligence and rational solutions for financial prosperity. He has traveled to over 120 countries and has started, invested in, and acquired businesses all over the world—from technology to agriculture to banking. He also serves on numerous boards of directors, and previously served as Chairman of a company listed on a major stock exchange. Earlier in his career, he was a West Point graduate and former US Army intelligence officer during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
