Maziar Minovi is the CEO of the Eurasia Group, the world's leading global political risk research and consulting firm. He is responsible for directing firm strategy and leading oversight of research, sales, and operations across Eurasia Group's global offices. Minovi has over 25 years of experience investing in international and emerging markets. Prior to joining Eurasia Group, he was a Managing Director and a senior member of the Investment Strategy Group at Goldman Sachs, where he identified investment opportunities in emerging markets—including in debt, equities, and currencies—as well as geopolitical and global policy issues with market impact. He has also worked for the International Monetary Fund, Long Term Capital Management, Putnam Investment Management, and the World Bank.
Minovi joined Eurasia Group as Managing Director, responsible for overseeing coverage of cross-cutting, global trends in geopolitics.
He is the firm's second CEO, succeeding Robert Johnson who stepped down in 2018.
As CEO, he oversees all areas of the global business including its vision, strategy, finances, and day-to-day operations.

EARLY CAREER
Minovi’s involvement in international politics started involuntarily when the Iranian Revolution interrupted his teenage years.
He utilizes his mastery in developed and emerging markets to offer extensive knowledge of individual countries’ finances—analyzing localized economies on a micro level, and translating what it means for global business.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he was the Head of the Emerging Markets Group at Babson Capital Management.
He served as an Economist for the International Monetary Fund and a Strategist for Long Term Capital Management.
Before that, he was a Fixed Income Analyst at Putnam Investments and a Consultant for privatization for The World Bank.
