Sir Xavier Rolet KBE is a highly accomplished business leader, entrepreneur, and academic, best known for his transformational tenure as Chief Executive Officer of the London Stock Exchange Group. An experienced CEO, co-founder, visiting professor, conservationist, regenerative viticulturist, and rancher, Rolet has built a distinguished career leading complex global organizations and driving long-term value creation across the financial services industry. During his decade as CEO of the London Stock Exchange, Rolet oversaw one of the most successful turnarounds in global capital markets. Under his leadership, the Exchange’s market capitalization grew from approximately £800 million to more than £14 billion, positioning LSEG as one of the world’s largest and most influential exchange groups by market value. Prior to leading the London Stock Exchange, Rolet held numerous senior leadership roles across global investment banking and asset management. His career includes serving as CEO of CQS, CEO of Banque Lehman Brothers in Paris, Co-Head of Global Equity Trading at Lehman Brothers in New York, and Global Head of European Equities at CS First Boston. EARLY CAREER
Sir Xavier Rolet KBE began his career in global finance on the International Risk Arbitrage Desk at Goldman Sachs in New York, where he developed deep expertise in equity markets and trading strategy.
In 1990, he relocated to London to become Co-Head of European Equities Sales and Trading at Goldman Sachs International, playing a key role in expanding the firm’s European equities franchise.
In 1994, Rolet joined Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) as Global Head of European Equities, where he oversaw trading, sales, and market strategy across major European markets.
He later became Chief Executive Officer of Lehman Brothers in France, serving from 2007 to 2009, navigating the firm through one of the most challenging periods in modern financial history.
Throughout his career, Sir Xavier Rolet has been widely recognized as a thought leader in global finance and capital markets.
